How to Get Greater Range of Motion in Your Feet and Toes

The physicians at the Michigan Foot and Ankle Center have been performing an innovative surgical procedure for the correction of an arthritic great toe joint (hallux rigidus).  The procedure is called a Metatarsal Resurfacing Implant, whereby the arthritic bone is removed from the joint, and replaced with a titanium joint replacement on the metatarsal bone, that allows for early range of motion and weight bearing from the first day of surgery. In most cases, patients that undergo the procedure are back in an athletic shoe and have the freedom to walk barefoot within one week.  Please contact us at 248.353.9300 or 734.591.6612 to see if you’re a candidate for this procedure.
